MEYER SOUND MM-4XPD : Directional Miniature Self-Powered loudspeaker
The Meyer Sound The MM-4XPD directional miniature self-powered loudspeaker
meets similar performance standards as the Meyer Sound MM-4XP,
with the added advantage of a directional hypercardioid pattern. The MM-4XPD
patent pending technology achieves a high degree of attenuation between
the front and the back of the loudspeaker and passively achieves a directional
polar response. Even at low frequencies this breakthrough technology achieves
attenuation in the order of 10 dB on the back of the loudspeaker. At higher
frequencies the loudspeaker retains directionality. All of this is achieved
with a single driver and avoids the complexity and cost associated with
a second driver and dedicated amplification and signal processing.
MEYER SOUND MM-4XPD FEATURES:
- Directional hypercardioid pattern provides 10dB
of attenuation between the front and the back of the loudspeaker, even
at low frequencies
- Directional pattern reduces excitation of the
room, desirable in highly reverberant spaces
- Extremely compact size fits in small spaces
- Patent-pending, passive, single-driver directional
technology minimizes energy consumption, weight, and cabinet volume
- A convenient u-bracket allows for quick and easy
mounting
MEYER SOUND MM-4XPD APPLICATIONS:
- Restaurants, bars and highly reverberant public
spaces
- Large distributed systems
- Trade show presentations
The Meyer Sound MM-4XPD directional loudspeaker was specifically
designed for high-quality distributed systems in highly reverberant spaces.
The directional polar pattern of the loudspeaker at low frequencies significantly
reduces the excitation of the room and increases the intelligibility of
the system.
The single 4-inch cone transducer, manufactured at Meyer Sound's Berkeley
factory, delivers an impressive maximum peak SPL of 113 dB, and has a
wide operating frequency range of 120 Hz to 18 kHz with very low distortion.
The Meyer Sound MM-4XPD exhibits the same high intelligibility and flat
frequency and phase responses for which Meyer Sound loudspeakers are known.
Its flexible and easy-to-configure mounting options, as well as its ability
to effortlessly reproduce both speech and music, make it an excellent
choice for large distributed applications as well as theatrical presentations,
and small portable systems for corporate AV solutions where intelligibility
is critical.
Meyer Sound's MM-4XPD amplifier and signal- processing circuits are designed
to store DC power and tolerate voltage drops, thereby accommodating light-gauge
cables and long cable runs. The Meyer Sound MM-4XPD receives balanced
audio and DC power from a SwitchCraft EN3 connector on its rear panel.
Meyer Sound MM-4XPD loudspeaker systems require an external MPS Power
Supply. The Meyer Sound MPS-488HPe | MPS-488HPp
rackmountable 8-channel power supplies are ideal for larger installations
with multiple loudspeakers and distributes power and audio signal, while
the compact MPS-481
power supply is designed for powering single loudspeakers individually.
Meyer Sound's MM-4XPD extruded aluminum enclosure acts as a heat sink
to dissipate heat from the driver's voice coil. The enclosure is available
in standard white or black anodized finishes with a perforated steel grille.
The Meyer Sound MUB-MM4XP U-bracket is available for mounting the loudspeaker
on walls and ceilings at adjustable angles.
